What is our trust in? We often put our trust in many different things; relationships, our home, finances, education, or our health, just to name a few. Does our ultimate trust need to be in these things? I think we would all agree and say "no", this is not where our ultimate trust should be. However, if we were to drill down for a moment, what or who do we place our confidence in? Many of the things we often trust in change. We read in (1 John 2:15-17) that the things of this world will pass away. "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever." (NKJV) Our ultimate trust must be in the Lord and in His Word. This is lasting and unchanging.
