Walk In Christ (Colossians 2:1-15)

A. Christ is the true revelation

(Colossians 2:1-3 (New King James Version)) "For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, 2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

B. Walk in the Lord

(Colossians 2:6-7) "As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving."

1. Rooted - We need to develop deep and stable roots. How much do we dwell on the Lord throughout our day? Are we in His word? How much of our time is devoted to prayer and to the fellowship of the Church? These are necessary for deep and stable roots.

2. Built Up - The idea of building on a solid, sure foundation, with stable footings. It rises with strong walls and supports. Our walk in the Lord, our faith, is built on the unchanging principles of God’s Word.

3. EstablishedOur lives are to be walked out in faithful obedience to Christ.

4. With Thanksgiving - Our thanksgiving as Christians should be in abundance, it should be overflowing. Having received the knowledge of Christ, the truth of His Word, and the blessings of Christ, our attitude should be one of abundant thanksgiving in Christ.
